Breathless
Breathless 2003 @ 608 Folsom San Francisco
Contained in a sound proof recording room (formerly SEGA) this installation stimulated all the senses. On the floor below the pyramid as well as on each level there are organic drawings in gold leaf that cascade through each level with a thin layer of honey and coconut milk filling in the design contained with red wax. From the ceiling is draped living balls of wheatgrass and spreading to the floor in a lilypad effect surrounding the step pyramid of glass. In the corner may be found artifacts from the past, bottles of earth from previous installations of years past. Jungle sounds are heard while in the room and people may peek into the fishbowl from other parts of the exhibition. A rich sense of olfactory is present and inviting.
